Dear Lori,

Years ago I was "Catherine in Oz" who provided you with some meagre feedback on one of your stories in the Captain and Counselor stories, which you were kind enough to acknowledge.

Over the past five weeks I've revisited your site and (downloaded purely for personal reasons) all that you posted (and then I went onto the yahoo site to get the WIPs).

And having read everything from start to finish, I just wanted to say a few things. First, my name is Catherine and I'm from Sydney in Australia.

Second, I would be sorely dismayed if you haven't continued to keep writing in whatever genre.

Upon re-reading the entire series (as posted), it is my personal view that you are an example of that rare species actually gifted with real talent. A decade or more later since first reading, your C&C universe is even more compelling than when I first read the instalments as they occurred in real time.

I know that while lots and lots of people read stories, very few end up commenting on them. It's been a long, long, time, but I just wanted to let you know that I think you are truly gifted.

You fashioned a universe in which Picard and Troi end up together and then you furnished it with such compelling stories and other non-cannon characters - to the extent that the reader is almost as interested in what happens to Beverly and Tom and Natalia and the L'norim and Riker, not to mention the finely crafted character studies of the Picard-Troi offspring,.

I've been lurking for a very long time on ST:TNG ff sites, and finally worked up the courage to post a few P/C vignettes under the guise of "LaBarre" over the past two years.

When I look at what you have achieved, and the feelings that your writing manages to evoke in me, I have to say I'm gobsmacked.

Not sure how to best contact you. Hope this makes it.

Absolutely beautiful pics, you should make a calendar using your hiking pics and name it Best Places to Hike in....

may encourage other hikers to try out your areas. I'm glad you found something to enjoy. Your pictures look as though they were done by a pro. If nothing else I hope you have many of them framed and hanging in your new place. You can't buy shots like that except for post cards!
