Hot cup of jo

So after examining all the options - packable presses, pots and so forth - I get an H20!jo and bring it home. Thinking, well, I have a 16 oz wide mouth Nalgene that would work spiffy with this. That would be plenty of coffee/tea to get me going in the morning when I’m backpacking, or on those mornings when running the coffee maker isn’t possible - throw in grounds, pour hot water, close the top and let it brew while I’m doing other things.

Like so many other things in my life lately, it didn’t work out - the mouth of the Nalgene isn’t wide enough to let even the bottom of the mesh basket through. So I get to go shopping again. Hopefully there are bottles with wider mouths that aren’t 32 ozs - I’d be vibrating up the trail with that much coffee in my veins.

come EAST. yeah, the weather is a crap shoot sometimes, but we are just loaded with people requiring your expert line of work! I can’t begin to give you an idea of pay, but there are many mountains to climb and depending just how far East you go perhaps a beach too. ;-) Also there is the Appalachian trial that runs about 25 miles from me. Again, you might want to read Bill Brysons take on the trial.

oh about the water jug/coffee container, check LLBean outdoor equip. They have a portable coffee maker and may have something you can use for both.

I found another Nalgene - bigger but workable with the mesh basket.

The only problem with coming East is starting over - my hours are California hours, and I don’t know that they would apply in other states as I’m not registered there, I’m registered here, and the laws/ethics are different here. I had also considered Nevada, Oregon or Washington - same problem.
