I have no attention span. All I can think about is the to do list for leaving on a week long backpacking trip - can't remember a thing I'm supposed to be doing at work today.
For some reason, that only partly describes me.
I am on the verge of taking an actual vacation. In two weeks I am scheduled to go on a week long backpacking trip. Whether I am laid off or not.
Craziness. The notion of being on vacation when the floor's about to fall out from under you makes my head spin, but here I am.
Hopefully the vacation will energize the job search....
I seem to have my page back. That was a long outage...
This was a hard, hard hike. Lots of slogging up the mountain, then sliding down the other side.
I haven't seen the movie, nor do I have plans to do so. I haven't bothered to avoid being spoiled. I find myself not caring a whole lot about the new Trek - maybe this has to do with being about to lose my job, maybe it has to do with how far removed I've become from mass media in general and from fandom....
However, I opened up drafts of fic and find myself engaging with it again.

in short - my manager is looking for a new job. The place is slowly sinking like a big boat going in slowmo. There are no jobs in town.
Submitting my hours and signing up for the first licensing exam this week.
Burnout reaching critical mass.
Bills not budging.
Options slim. Must network.
... it's only paperwork now.
3000 hours is a lot more time than you expect it to be.

I moved, and next Saturday, I move again. Maybe I'll stay put for a while then.
Good bye, bass playin' upstairs neighbor, too-small apartment, and daffy ducks who crap on the sidewalk every morning.
